Online Form: How to Fill
The IRS has just released a new IRS Form 7004 that is designed to help individuals and businesses to prepare for the upcoming tax filing season. The form gives taxpayers a way to track their tax withholdings and prepare to submit their W-2 and other forms to the IRS. With the new tax laws, such as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), there may be changes to how much is withheld from your paycheck.
The Form 7004 is used to apply for an extension of time to file income tax return. The extension may be granted for six months from the original due date. The applicant needs to enter the form date, the extension date, the tax year, the reason for the extension, the signature of the applicant, the signature of the spouse, if any, and the name of the tax preparer.
After filling out the form, you will need to print and sign it. You will also need to attach all of your supporting documentation, such as the previous year's tax return, W-2 forms, and 1099s. After completing all of this, you will need to send it to the IRS.
